What can I expect to do in this role?

The Office of the Provincial Advocate for Children and Youth, is seeking an experienced professional and skilled individual to provide reception services to the Investigations Unit. The position will provide excellent customer service by responding, researching and/or redirecting telephone and email queries from the public, government and interest groups. Using their strong organizational skills, this person will log and import the information received from investigations to the Office's database, while maintaining office filing. They will be responsible for greeting invited guests, booking meeting rooms and fulfilling case file requests.

How do I qualify?

Qualifications:

• Knowledge of office practices and procedures and clerical functions to provide reception and clerical support services to the Office;
• Experience in customer service with strong oral and written communication skills to answer public inquiries;
• Superior interpersonal skills to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders;
• Strong organizational, planning and problem solving skills;
• Demonstrate good judgement and discretion when dealing with difficult individuals;
• Proficient knowledge of MS Office using Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and Access and knowledge of Casemap would be an asset;
• Knowledge of office equipment such as photocopiers, fax machine, TTY device, multi-line telephone, and printers;
• French would be an asset.
