By working with the Programs Directorate, you can:

- Work in a grants and contributions environment;

- Work with stakeholders across Atlantic Canada; and
- Collaborate with other federal departments, as well as provincial and territorial governments.

Under the management of program senior officers, the selected candidates will work on the implementation, delivery and support of programs. The duties may include, but are not limited to, the following tasks:

- Entertain working relationship with various program stakeholders to support project implementation;
- Support the management of the grants and contributions budget envelop and prepare reports, as required/needed;
- Review and analyze progress reports, leading to project payment and monitoring recommendations;
- Support the development of briefing materials (e.g. notes, presentations, spreadsheets, etc.) for senior management;
- Help with the development and/or production of reports, as identified in the program reporting framework; and
- Produce related documentation associated with program communications activities.

When you apply to this selection process, you are not applying for a specific job, but to an inventory for future vacancies. Appointed employees will be asked to rotate to different positions within the Programs Directorate, to support special operational requirements and learn the various workflows of the Directorate.

You must meet all essential qualifications in order to be appointed to the position. Other qualifications may be a deciding factor in choosing the person to be appointed. In order to be considered, your application must clearly explain how you meet the following (essential qualifications)

EDUCATION:
Graduation with a Bachelor’s degree or eligibility for an accounting designation (CA, CMA, CPA, CGA).

IMPORTANT NOTE: Students within one year of obtaining their degree will be considered. You must provide the program and the date of obtaining your degree.
Degree equivalency
EXPERIENCE:
• In gathering and analyzing information, preparing reports or documents for other users.
• In providing or presenting information verbally to others.
• In working collaboratively with others on projects or activities.
* Experience is defined as engagement in the performance of these duties normally associated with a minimum period of one year.

If you possess any of the following, your application must also clearly explain how you meet it (other qualifications)

EDUCATION:
Graduation with a Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university in one of the following: Commerce, Business/Public Administration, Economics, or Accounting.
Degree equivalency
EXPERIENCE:
• In the delivery of programs or services, or monitoring contracts/projects, in a government context.
• In providing advice related to commercial lending, accounting or financial analysis.
• In assessing business plans and financial statements.
