    Responsibilities


    This position is located in the Environmental Management Service (EMS) at the Robley Rex VA Medical Center in Louisville, KY.    You will work as a Housekeeping Aid within EMS and perform duties in accordance with established housekeeping and aseptic techniques and methods.  You may be rotated in patient areas, clinics, administrative offices, research, various critical care areas to include but are not limited to the operating room, hemodialysis, SICU, as well as any public areas during your shift.   Duties and responsibilities include:
    • Sweeping, dusting, vacuuming, mopping, scrubbing, waxing floors;
    • Washing and polishing furniture,doors, and metal;
    • Cleaning beds, venetian blinds, light fixtures, walls and windows;
    • Cleaning and disinfecting sanitary fixtures;
    • Emptying and cleaning trash receptacles;
    • Lifting and moving furniture;
    • Responsible for proper use and care of battery powered scrubber,electrically powered floor scrubber, baseboard scrubber, and wet/dry pick-up vacuum cleaner;
    • Performing aseptic cleaning techniques, etc.

    Work Schedule: Multiple Shifts, vacancies on each shift, shifts will be assigned based upon the needs of the service.1st: 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM
    2nd: 2:00 PM - 10:30 PM
    3rd: 10:00 PM - 6:30 AM
