Work environment

Parks Canada is a federal government agency responsible for the protection and presentation of Canada’s outstanding natural and cultural resources through a system of national parks, national marine conservation areas and national historic sites in all regions of Canada.

Intent of the process

This inventory will be used to staff positions at the AS-01 group and level within Parks Canada Agency with employment tenures, language requirements, security requirements, conditions of employment and work locations that will vary depending on the needs of the positions being staffed.

EXP1: Experience providing administrative support services in an office environment*;
EXP2: Experience using word processing AND spreadsheet software programs.

*Administrative support services is defined as, but not limited to: managing agendas, scheduling and organizing meetings/teleconferences, preparing and collating meeting file folders and background materials, procuring office equipment and supplies, maintaining a filing system, and other related duties.

ADDITIONAL EXPERIENCE:

AEXP1: Experience in dealing with senior officials (i.e. Director or above) within the federal government;
AEXP2: Experience in using a financial system such as SAP;
AEXP3: Experience in providing budget AND financial support services;
AEXP4: Experience in scheduling AND organizing teleconferences, videoconferences AND/OR meetings;
AEXP5: Experience in the provision of human resources support services;
AEXP6: Experience in providing advice to managers on finance AND travel;
AEXP7: Experience in managing a document tracking system such as CCM Enterprise, CCM Mercury, etc.;
AEXP8: Experience using a Human Resources information management system (eg. PeopleSoft 8.9 or greater).

Candidates from outside the Federal Public Service will be required to pay for their own travel expenses for various phases of testing/assessment.
