The intent of this process is to staff one indeterminate position. A pool of qualified candidates will be created and may be used to staff similar positions within various units and locations with the Department of National Defence.

Education:
Diploma in Mechanical/Engineering Computer Drafting from a recognized Post-Secondary Education Program, Community College or Institution

Degree equivalency

Experience:
Experience in the production of engineering drawings
Recent* experience in using a Computer Aided Drafting (CAD) software application
Experience in the use of MS Word and MS Outlook

*Recent experience is defined as possessing a minimum of one (1) year experience within the last five (5) years.

Asset Qualifications:

Experience:
Experience using Bentley’s MicroStation V8® and/or AutoCAD® and/or Autodesk’s Inventor® softwares
Experience using ALGOR® and/or Intergraph’s AIM Directa® and/or SmartSketch® and/or SmartPlant Markup® softwares
Experience working in a marine engineering environment

Knowledge:

Knowledge of drawing versioning and revision control procedures
Knowledge of Engineering drawing and CAD Standards
Knowledge of Documentation Management Systems

Abilities:

Ability to produce engineering drawings using a Computer Aided Drafting (CAD) software application

Organizational Needs:

Must be able and willing to work in or on a naval vessel at sea or alongside, with exposure to project site risks requiring the use of Personnel Protection Equipment (PPE) such as Personal Floating Device, (PFDs) safety goggles, fall arrest gears and respirators. This often involves climbing, stooping, stretching, bending and crawling.

Must be able to work aloft, in confined spaces, in a noisy environment, outdoors in the extremes of temperature, weather, and elements.
