About the Position:

This position is located at the Directorate of Emergency Services (DES)-Provost Marshal Office (PMO), located at FT Belvoir, VA.
Situated on the Potomac River, Fort Belvoir, Virginia is conveniently located outside the Washington, D.C. beltway and is accessible via I-95 and Route 1. Richmond Highway Express (REX) Metro bus line services Fort Belvoir. This position is under Career Program 29 Installation Management.

Duties

MAJOR DUTIES:
Serves as Police Records custodian and liason for the directorate. Coordinates with the SJA, Social Services, local police/sheriff office, courts, CID, OPM criminal investigators, law enforcement agencies including nation-wide and overseas or investigation agencies to maintain case documentation. Manages and administers the Total Army Performance Evaluation System (TAPES). Serves as the Alternate Automated Time/Attendance and Production System (ATAPPS). Manages various administrative processes to ensure that procedures meet office needs. Create and track request for personnel actions. Reviews and analyzes administrative policies, clarifies complex and confusing guidelines and makes recommendations to higher level staff for changes to administrative policy. Manages the Citibank Travel Card for Individual Billed Accounts (IBA) for all military and civilian personnel assigned to the directorate. Knowledge of legal and regulatory requirements of police case records. Knowledge of office automation system using several types of software for various record keeping and reports preparation.

Qualifications

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience required: Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job. Specialized experience is defined as: coordinating with various law enforcement activities to maintain police records case documentation; managing and maintaining performance evaluation systems; managing various administrative processes (time and attendance, travel reconciliations) using automated systems. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07).

You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency (knowledge, skills, abilities) in the following areas:

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the second lower grade (or equivalent).
