DESCRIPTION Hardware and Lumber Ltd., a Jamaican company retailing and wholesaling building materials, home improvement supplies, household items and agricultural products, invites applications from suitably qualified persons for the position of: Merchandising Team Leader

5 positions available (Kingston, Portmore, Mandeville, Ocho Rios, Montego Bay) The Merchandizing Team Leader supports organizational objectives by maximizing customer traffic and sales through stimulating product presentations and displays. The successful candidate will ensure the effectiveness of all merchandising activities through creating, implementing and monitoring the visual merchandising aspects of the company’s image throughout the retail chain. The highest standards, expectations and branding objectives will be met through:

• Consistent use of all visual merchandising tools, equipment and materials.
• Awareness of and compliance with image standards and expectations through execution of regular training sessions.
• Research and recommendations of innovative concepts, ideas and solutions for visual merchandising. 
• Up to date awareness of merchandising trends locally and internationally.

Key Competencies

• High level of creativity and flair
• Excellent communication skills
• Good organizational and time management skills
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point

Required Education and Experience

• Diploma in Marketing or equivalent
• Solid understanding of marketing principles & retail merchandising fundamentals
• Supervisory experience in a retail environment
• Visual merchandising experience
• Working Conditions
• Flexible hours with extensive standing and walking;
• Will be required to climb ladders
• Will be required to lift and/or move up to 25 lbs.
• Will be required to push, lift and manipulate heavy fixtures, boxes, equipment
