Duties
The following are the duties of this position at the GS-13. If you are selected at a lower grade level, you will have the opportunity to learn to perform all these duties, and will receive training to help you grow in this position.
- Reviews legislation, reports, financial analyses and statements, and other background information and holds discussions with program personnel in order to become familiar with program requirements and operations; determines any potential problems; develops required connections to offices, organizations, and program personnel; and identifies preliminary scope and course of audit activities.
- Develops the audit plan.
- When audits involve other team members, assigns these members to survey areas, based on program element, geographic area, or other appropriate assignment.
- Conducts and directs actual audit which can be at multiple locations.
- Reviews team or individual findings and identifies issues covering such areas as administrative and program controls, program procedures, allocation and expenditure of funds, potential fraud and/or waste, adherence to legislation, agreements, contracts, and other program requirements.
