Registration Supervisor (more than 200 Positions)


National Registration and Identification Project Vacancy Announcement
Applications are invited from suitably qualified Malawians aged 16 years and above without criminal record to fill the following temporary vacancies tenable in any of the 28 Districts in Malawi.

Location and Duration:
This is a field work position that will involve working in various parts of the country including rural areas for a period of up to 9 months.

Job purpose
This is a leadership and supervisory position. The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising and coordinating the performance of Registration officers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide supervisory leadership in coordinating, assigning and reviewing the work of Registration Officers.
  • Establishing work schedules and procedures and co-coordinating activities with other work units or departments.
  • Resolving work-related problems and preparing and submitting progress and other reports.
  • Training and instructing Registration Officers in job activities, safety procedures and NRB regulating Acts, regulations, and policies.
  • Evaluating employees job performance and conformance to regulations, and recommending appropriate action.
  • Preparation and submission of reports.
  • Authenticating and ensuring that the person applying is indeed a Citizen of Malawi by conducting a short interview and reviewing all documentation presented before continuing to capture the personal information.
  • Uploading the newly captured information and to download relevant updates, on a regular interval to and from the district office.
  • Issuing the newly produced National ID Cards to the citizens registered at the Registration Centre.
Qualifications
  • MSCE/Diploma/Degree
Knowledge and Skills
  • Able to lead, develop and motivate staff
  • Ability to register
  • Planning and organizing skills
  • Communication and interpersonal skills
  • Basic IT Skills and any ICT certificate training or proof of previous experience using ICT
  • Typing Skills (minimum of 50 words per minute)
  • Language Fluency: English and Chichewa are mandatory.
  • Other languages such as Tumbuka, Yao will be an added advantage.

Registration Officers (more than 4000 Positions)

Applications are invited from suitably qualified Malawians aged 16 years and above without criminal record to fill the following temporary vacancies tenable in any of the 28 Districts in Malawi.

Registration Officer

Location and Duration:
This is a field work position that will involve working in various parts of the country including rural areas for a period of up to 9 months.

Job Purpose:
The Registration Officer position’s primary function will be to register ONLY Malawians aged 16 years and above.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensuring that all registrants comply with all legal and regulatory requirements of being a Malawian Citizen.
  • Conduct a short interview and review all the registrants’ documents before continuing to capture the personal information using a computer keyboard, mouse, camera, fingerprint scanners, signature scanners and optical document scanner located in a Biometric Registration Kit.
  • Ensuring that the person applying is indeed a Citizen of Malawi by conducting a short interview and reviewing all documents.
  • Keeping support documents in a safe place including backups of the captured data.
  • Uploading the newly captured information and to download relevant updates, on a regular interval to and from the district office.
  • Issuing the newly produced National ID Cards to the citizens registered at the Registration Centre.
Qualifications

All successful candidates will be rewarded at a flat rate in line with the standard remuneration for each position despite each candidate’s specific qualifications.
