Law Firm Associate Attorney (Kingston, Jamaica) - Knight, Junor & Samuels

Description:
Under the supervision of Partners, Associate will have conduct of client matters from commencement to conclusion, and will represent clients in a variety of legal proceedings, including courtroom trials.

Responsibilities include:

• Taking clients instructions
• Writing opinions
• Conducting research
• Drafting legal documents
• Visiting clients in custody
• Attending court, dispute resolution, etc.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Broad-based competence in many areas of law; with specialization in Criminal Litigation
• Knowledge of Parish Court, Circuit Court and Court of Appeal procedures
• Public speaking and Advocacy, excellent writing, research and interpersonal skills
• Self-directed and works well under pressure

Required Qualifications:

• Attorney-at-Law in good standing, plus at least five (5) years experience in a simialr capacity. Willing to travel islandwide.
