Job Description

Join the award-winning Toronto Public Service as an Administration Trainee within our Policy, Planning Finance & Administration Division.

Major Responsibilities:
  • Assists in clerical tasks as they relate to the administrative and financial responsibilities of the program area
  • Performs computer related tasks such as data entry in Excel spreadsheets, Word documents, etc.
  • Responds to inquiries, files and photocopies
  • Assists with a variety of public consultation event functions
  • Travels to various locations and/or attends public consultation events with staff
Key Qualifications:

Your application must describe your qualifications as they relate to
:
  1. Currently enrolled in or a recent graduate of a post secondary degree or diploma program in Planning, Urban Studies, Social Studies or other related program area
  2. Experience using computers including experience in the use of Microsoft Office software (i.e. MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
You must also have:
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interact with staff and clients in an efficient and diplomatic manner
  • Excellent organizational and problem solving skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively as a member of a team.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
  • Ability to work under time constraints and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to provide excellent customer service when dealing with the public.
  • Ability to work shifts as assigned, including weekends and evenings.
