BUREAU OF STANDARDS INVITES APPLICATIONS FOR THE POSITION OF
RECEPTIONIST
Job Summary:             
The Receptionist, as the first point of direct interaction (face-to-face) with clients, is responsible for the professional, courteous and efficient management of all visitors with a view to enhance the service experience and maintain a positive organizational image.
  • Greet visitors and ascertain purpose of visit
  • Provide general information where appropriate
  • Maintain visitors’ log book
  • Develop and maintain databases to enhance efficient monitoring of certification activities
  • Assist with the development of the NCBJ’s annual objectives, work plan and budget
  • Direct visitors to relevant section(s)
  • Receive and record mail and other correspondences
  • Maintain the ambiance of the Front Desk area
  • Provide relief for the Telephone Operator
  • Receive and dispatch messages in a timely manner
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities required:
  • Excellent customer service principles & practices
  • Good mediation and conflict resolution skills
  • Good assessment skills of the work and functions of the Bureau
  • Good human relations and interpersonal skills
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent listening ability

Minimum Qualifications and Experience:
  • Five C.X.C / G.C.E subjects including English at the General Proficiency level
  • Computer literacy in Microsoft Office
  • Training in Customer Service
  • One (1) year experience in a similar position
