• Summary

  The selectee for this position will serve as a GENERAL SUPPLY SPECIALIST in the Logistics Department of Navy Systems Management Activity.

  Responsibilities

  The successful selectee will perform the following duties:
  

  • You will conduct inventory research of supply and equipment for routine and unique customer requirements.
  • You will interpret and apply DoD supply and inventory management policy across all work products.
  • You will navigate GSA, MILSTRIP, DoD E-Mall, and DLA Disposition Services website applications for supply, disposal, and inventory management research.
  • You will investigate and resolve supply, inventory, receipt, and shipment issues.
  • You will communicate with customers on status of supply orders and deliveries, both in writing and verbally.

  Travel Required

  Occasional travel - This position may require travel, up to 5%, from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. Must be willing and able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

  Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.
  
  Must be able to obtain an interim a final TS/SCI security clearance prior to entrance on duty AND must be able to maintain the required level of clearance while employed in the subject position. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  
  Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if the applicant fails to report to the scheduled drug test appointment. Incumbents of drug testing designated positions will be subject to random testing. Please Note: Marijuana is a Schedule I drug under the Controlled Substances Act and therefore use of marijuana is illegal under Federal law regardless of State laws. A positive drug test result for marijuana (or any other drug tested for) will result in withdrawal of the tentative job offer and ineligibility to apply for a position within the Department of Defense for 6 months from the date of the drug test.
  
  Work requires frequent bending, stooping, walking, standing, working in cramped positions, and climbing.
  
  This position may require up to 5% travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. Must be willing and able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  

  Qualifications

  In order to qualify for this position, your resume must provide sufficient experience and/or education, knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the duties of the specific position for which you are being considered.   GS-09 Level: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
  
  1. Experience submitting requisitions into the federal supply system, and posting requisition status and inventory data into an automated database.
  2. Experience with independently preparing documents to transfer property within the organization, between agencies and between other activities.
  3. Experience conducting and maintaining supply inventories.
  4. Experience with independently determining the sources of supply for items, including alternate sources for non-standard items.
  5. Experience researching technical data for supply items using stock/part number, NSN, or nomenclature.
  
  OR
  
  I have successfully completed a master's or equivalent graduate degree.
  
  OR
  
  I have successfully completed two full years of progressively higher graduate level education leading to a master's degree.
  
  OR
  
  I have a combination of experience and graduate education as described above that equates to one year of experience. My percentage of the required education plus my percentage of the required experience equal one hundred percent.
  
  GS-07 Level: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
  
  1.Experience submitting requisitions into the federal supply system, and posting requisition status and inventory data into an automated database.
  2. Experience preparing documents to transfer property within the organization, between agencies and between other activities.
  3. Experience maintaining supply inventories.
  4. Experience determining the sources of supply for items.
  
  OR
  
  I have successfully completed a bachelor's degree with superior academic achievement.
  
  OR
  
  I have successfully completed one full year of graduate level education.
  
  OR
  
  I have a combination of experience and education as described above that equates to one year of experience. My percentage of the required education plus my percentage of the required experience equal one hundred percent.
