Summary
This position is located in West Bethesda, Maryland. The incumbent of this position develops codes, selects tools, and determines machine tools during the fabrications process. He/she programs and develops tool paths on machining projects using G&M programming language for use with Fanuc, Trak, Haas CNC controllers installed on Wire EDM machines, and 3, 4, and 5 axis machine centers, mills, and lathes.of CARDEROCK DIV NS. Responsibilities
The successful selectee will perform the following duties:
Determining proper tool types, feed rates, and/or tool speeds for a variety of ferrous and non-ferrous materials.
Verifying components and/or models to ensure compliance with dimension specified in drawings, specifications, and/or control documents.
Setting up and operating Computer Numerical Controlled (CNC) multi-axis machining centers.
Determining machine tools to be used during machining process.
Males must be registered or exempt from Selective Service. www.sss.gov
Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.
May be required to successfully complete a probationary/trial period.

Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.
Must be able to obtain an interim and/or final (secret) security clearance prior to entrance on duty AND must be able to maintain the required level of clearance while employed in the subject position. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
Work requires lifting item up to 40lbs
Requires rotating shift work.
Incumbent, on occasion, performs work in ind ustrial settings where the potential for hazards exists. However, the use of engineering controls, materials substitution and personal protective equipment reduce or eliminate hazard exposure.
Qualifications
In order to qualify for this position, your resume must provide sufficient experience and/or education, knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the duties of the specific position for which you are being considered. FOR THE NT-03: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade (NT-02 or GS-05/08) in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector operating conventional/Computer Numerical Controlled (CNC) multi-axis machining centers; or designing, building, and/or researching specialized tooling or fixtures to be used for the production of complex machining components for an organization. OR have successfully completed a master's or equivalent graduate degree in a related field; OR have successfully completed two full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a master's degree in a related field
FOR THE NT-04: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade (NT-03 or GS-09/10) in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector analyzing/diagnosing issues occurring in the machining process; or preparing, developing, or establishing standardized procedures or methods for close tolerance machining finishes for an organization.
