Summary
The Greenville VA Health Care Center (GVHCC) is located at 401 Moye Boulevard, Greenville, NC 27834. The GVHCC opened in January 2014. It operates as a satellite facility of the Durham Veterans Affairs Medical Center. The GVHCC houses primary care, specialty care, mental health, prosthetics, women's health, audiology, optometry, dental, pharmacy, radiology, laboratory services, procedures, and physical/occupational/rehabilitation therapy services. The GVHCC serves 12,100 patients and has a rapidly growing patient base. The GVHCC enjoys a growing partnership with East Carolina University (ECU). Greenville is home to 27,500 students who attend ECU, which offers a wide range of cultural and sporting events, including musical concerts, theatrical and dance productions, travel films, and lectures. The Greenville Museum of Art displays local art, as well as rotating exhibitions. The Magnolia Arts Center offers a theatrical outlet for both performers and audiences alike. Many restaurants offer live entertainment on weekends. Uptown Greenville is a non-profit revitalization project that promotes numerous events in the downtown district. Pirate Fest is the region's signature community event designed to celebrate eastern North Carolina's rich pirate history. The festival draws an estimated 30,000 people and over 150 vendors for two days of live music, delicious and unique food, art sale, roaming pirates, and more! Greenville is located 80 miles from the Crystal Coast Beaches, including Atlantic Beach, Emerald Isle, historic Beaufort, and Morehead City. Greenville is within commuting distance of the waterfront towns of Washington and New Bern. Greenville is also located 80 miles east of the capital city, Raleigh.

Position Description Title/PD#: Program Support Assistant (OA); PD# 6559
This position is located in the Veterans Administration (VA) Veteran health Administration (VHA), Mid-Atlantic Healthcare Network (VISN 6), at the Greenville Health Care Center (HCC). The incumbent of this position serves as a Program Support Assistant for Medicine and Surgery Services where the incumbent provides administrative support for Residency and Student Programs in addition to assisting staff members with administrative, training activities, and program support.Performs work involving the collection compilation and/or tracking of data and statistical information in support of Medicine and Surgery Service Programs. The incumbent has administrative/clerical responsibility for daily operations in Medicine and Surgery Services. Serves as liaison and support for multiple program within the Services which includes Cardiology, Dermatology, Endocrinology, Gastroenterology/Hepatology, Hematology/Oncology, Neurology, Physical Medicine & Rehab, Pulmonary, Orthopedics, Podiatry, Urology and Obstetrics & Gynecology. The incumbent assist in the reporting of data/statistical results or program and project studies for the services such as open encounters, missed opportunities, and no show rates.Travel Required
