Our mission, as Readiness Enablers, is to provide childcare to the West Point Community so that Soldiers and Civilians can complete their Army mission with the assurance of quality, reliable childcare. We believe that the most important contribution we can make to children's lives is to provide an environment that will foster the development of positive self-concept.


About the School Age Center (SAC) Program. The SAC program is nationally accredited through the Council on Accreditation (COA) which offers a comprehensive supervised curriculum. The foundation of the SAC curriculum consists or four service areas: Sports, Fitness, and Health Options; Life Skills, Citizenship, and Leadership Opportunities; Art, Recreation, and Leisure Activities; and Academic Support, Mentoring and Intervention.The SAC program offers Before and After School Care for grades K-5, half/full day care on school-out days as well as full-time summer, winter, and spring camps. Hours may vary between 6:00AM and 6:00PM, with the occasional evening and/or weekend hours.

Recruitment for this vacancy announcement will be filled for the School Age Center.

Duties

1. Oversees the administrative management of the reception area of a CYS program.
2. Receives children, youth, parents, and other visitors in a courteous manner.
3. Utilizes Child and Youth Management System (CYMS) to oversee the collection, accurate accounting and reporting of funds.
4. To collect and maintain up-to-date statistical data for planning and reporting purposes in accordance with higher headquarters and statutory requirements.
5. Utilizes and electronic cash register system and calculator to compute and record individual transactions for customers.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:
1. Progressively responsible administrative duties.
2. Skill in operating a manual or electric typewriter, and current automation system and software (Microsoft Windows, Word, Power Point, Excel).
3. Must be able to type 40 words per minute.
4. Knowledge of grammar, spelling, capitalization and punctuation, and composition techniques needed to accurately type a variety of material from written sources or voice recordings.
5. Possess the ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.

The experience listed above must be reflected on your resume to be considered eligible for this position.

Highly Preferred Criteria:
1. Minimum of 6 months experience in performing administrative/clerical responsibilities in an office setting.
2. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, and provide a high degree of customer interaction.
3. Knowledge of formats, forms, (such as contained in the Child and Youth Management System), typing policies, and common terminology of the program (such as Child Development Center, School Age Center, etc.) for which the work is to be performed.
4. Minimum of 6 months experience as a business or government credit card holder.
5. Minimum of 6 months experience in data entry on any database application.
6. Familiarity with the policies and regulations of the United States Department of the Army.

Conditions of Employment:

6. Must be able to work shifts between the hours of 06:00 AM - 06:00 PM, to include occasional split shifts, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
