About the Position:
The United States Military Entrance Processing Command (US MEPCOM), with headquarters in Building 3400, Great Lakes Naval Training Center, Great Lakes (North Chicago), IL, is a joint service command under the direction of the Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Military Personnel Policy and is staffed by representatives of all branches of the Armed Forces. The command, through its 65 Military Entrance Processing Stations, determines whether applicants are qualified for enlistment based on standards set by each of the services. Two geographic sectors provide intermediate management in operating the MEPS. The Eastern Sector Headquarters and Western Sector Headquarters are co-located with the Command Headquarters.

Duties
As a Administrative Services Technician, you will be responsible for the following:
Serve as the subject matter expert for property accountability and all logistic matters.
Maintain automated supply system for logistical transactions purposes.
Investigate inventory discrepancies. Purchase commodities to ensure continuing operations.
Arrange fleet vehicle pickups, maintenance and turn-ins.

Experience Required: Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Specialized Experience: To qualify based on your experience, your resume must clearly describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job. Specialized experience is defined as experience that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled, such as: Maintaining an automated supply system for material requisition; Maintaining a DoD purchase log for supply purchases; Assisting in fleet management duties (i.e. key control, control of gas cards, vehicle inspections, preparing accident reports) for command; Scheduling equipment for maintenance/calibration/repair to ensure equipment is maintained in working order. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06).
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.

Incumbent must be able to obtain and maintain Blood Borne Pathogen certification.
This position requires the incumbent to be able to lift up to 40 pounds, and capable of utilizing material handling equipment.
