The FSC has an immediate opening of Administrative Assistant - Legal Services Research and Policy Division.
Position Summary:
The Administrative Assistant reports to the General Counsel and provides administrative support to the General Counsel and is responsible for ensuring the efficient operation of the Legal Services Division by providing effective administrative support.
In addition, the incumbent will act as the principal contact/liaison/resource person with the relevant internal and external contacts. He/she will ensure the smooth co-ordination of information to flow to the Executive Director and Divisional Heads. He/she should also prepare minutes, agendas and execute the necessary follow through for all divisional meetings.

Key responsibilities:
- Efficiently manage the work flow of the Legal Services, Research and Policy Division
- Ensures efficient flow of information between General Counsel and the Office of the Executive Director
- Ensures efficient flow of information between the General Counsel and the Departments/Divisions of the FSC.
- Produces accurate and timely reports on divisional activities
- Maintains records in support of actions and decisions taken in the Division
- Aids in the production of the audited annual report of the FSC
- Maintains the calendar of the General Counsel
- Provides para-legal services as required.
Education, Experience and Skills:
- A first degree in Business Administration, Law or Certified Professional Secretary designation
- A minimum of three (3) years experience in a similar position
- Confidentiality and professionalism
- Must be self-motivated
- Sound knowledge of meeting protocols
- Sound knowledge of the FSC's operations is a definite asset
- Knowledge of corporate governance standards would be an asset
- Highly proficient in MS Office applications
- Good planning and organizational skills
- Ability to assimilate, synthesize and reproduce/transcribe complex material
- Good time management skills
- Ability to multi-task and respond to changing/competing work demands
- Good decision making skills
- High level of diplomacy and tact
- Excellent oral and written communication
- Excellent presentation skills
