- Researching medical records and extracting pertinent information to develop written responses to a variety of requests from authorized parties.
- Schedules appropriate types of appointments including special procedures, acute, and follow-up.
- Complying with all regulations, including HIPAA and Privacy Act, on the confidentiality and release of information from medical records.
- Using automated systems similar to Composite Health Care System (CHCS) and Armed Forces Health Longitudinal Technology Application (AHLTA) to enter and retrieve data.

This education must have been obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university for which high school graduation or the equivalent is the normal prerequisite.
COMBINATION OF EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be combined to meet the total qualification requirements.
