About the Position:The Fort George G. Meade Dental Activity serves the needs of the Fort Meade military community. Our eight clinics are within the Fort Meade Activities footprint in three states; Maryland, Virginia, and Pennsylvania. This position is located at 8472 Simonds Street (Epes Dental Clinic) and in the Kimbrough Ambulatory Care Center (Dental Clinic #3). Our goal is to assist you in obtaining the dental care necessary to maintain optimal oral health while you are stationed in this area. Our staff of dental professionals is capable of providing comprehensive dental care for the active duty service members stationed in this area. Who May Apply: U.S. Citizens
Duties
Major Duties:
Maintains administrative aspects of credentialing program by reviewing and inputting data into an automated system.
Monitors credentials of licensed health care employees to ensure licenses are current and Continuing Dental Education (DEU) credits are current and valid.
Serving as liaison for adverse action and impaired provider reporting.
Maintains provider credential files.
Using office automation to create a variety of standardized documents.

Qualifications
In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Experience required: Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job. Specialized experience is defined as: maintaining the administrative aspects of a credentialing program such as reviewing data, inputting data and creating documents using an automated system, monitoring credentials of licensed health care employees to ensure their licenses are current and valid; serves as liaison for adverse actions or impaired provider reporting; and maintains provider credential files This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-05) or equivalent.
This position requires a qualified typist. The definition of a qualified typist is able to type 40 words per minute (WPM) on a 5-minute sample with 3 or fewer errors.
You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency (knowledge, skills, abilities) in the following areas:
Knowledge of health care credentialing regulations, policies and procedures
Knowledge of office automation
Skilled in oral and written communication
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
