Summary
Civilian employees serve a vital role in supporting the Army mission. They provide the skills that are not readily available in the military, but crucial to support military operations. The Army integrates the talents and skills of its military and civilian members to form a Total Army. The President has ordered a government-wide hiring freeze subject to certain limited exceptions. This position is subject to the hiring freeze. Although we are moving forward with the consideration of candidates, we will not make a selection for this vacancy announcement unless and until the position is no longer subject to the hiring freeze.
About the Position:Serves as the Secretary to the Division Director and Deputy. The majority of the Directors and deputies duties pertain to the overall planning and execution of all operational aspects of the CDID mission. About The Surrounding Area:
This position is located in Southwest Oklahoma and historic Fort Sill. Lawton/Fort Sill is surrounded by a national treasure, the Wichita Wildlife Refuge. There are thousands of acres for hiking and open ranges for buffalo, elk, longhorn and other wildfire. Lawton/Fort Sill is just 50 minutes from Oklahoma City and about three hours from Dallas/Fort Worth, Texas. Lawton provides excellent dining and shopping opportunities with a small town atmosphere.

Duties
Receive all visitors and telephone calls for the CDID organization
Provide administrative and technical information and guidance
Keep office calendar and schedules updated
Schedule appointments, meetings, and conferences
Relate important information throughout the organization
Review correspondence, publications, regulations, and directives that may affect the organization
Monitor control records and action documents within the department
Oversee travel arrangements for organization's personnel
Assist in the procedural aspect of the organization's workflow
Maintain effective communication with a wide audience to include on-/off-post offices and personnel in temporary duty status (TDY)
Serve as point-of-contact regarding security clearances

Qualifications
In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Experience required: Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job. Specialized experience is defined as: Maintaining a daily calendar; scheduling appointments and conferences; establishing and maintaining suspense controls; composing and reviewing correspondence such as memorandums, letters and reports; taking notes and preparing minutes; preparing travel accommodations; providing administrative and clerical functions utilizing various computer programs (i.e., Microsoft Office - Word, Excel, Power Point). Selective Placement Factor:
This position requires a qualified typist defined as the ability to type 40 words per minute (wpm).
This position requires to possess the experience utilizing office automation software, practices, and procedures.
You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency (knowledge, skills, abilities) in the following areas:
Knowledge of office automation
Knowledge of office administrative functions
Ability to communicate orally and in writing
For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone - no substitution of education for experience is permitted.

Male applicants born after December 31, 1959 must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration.
You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship.
Two year trial/probationary period may be required.
Direct Deposit of Pay is required.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Security clearance.
Occasional Temporary Duty Travel (TDY) away from home station.
This is a 13 months TERM position with the option to extend NTE 4 years. Option to convert to permanent without further competition.
