About the Agency

The President has ordered a government-wide hiring freeze subject to certain limited exceptions. This position is subject to the hiring freeze. Although we are moving forward with the consideration of candidates, we will not make a selection for this vacancy announcement unless and until the position is no longer subject to the hiring freeze.

The selectee for this position will serve as a Human Resources Assistant (Mil/OA) in the Naval Reserve Officers' Training Corps (NROTC) Unit Boston Consortium - Boston, Massachusetts 02215 of NROTC NAVADMINU.

Duties

The successful selectee will perform the following duties:

• Maintain forms for student records
• File personnel records in accordance with policies and procedures
• Respond to requests for information regarding data in personnel records.
• Review personnel documents and correspondence for grammatical and spelling errors.
• Answer questions on operation, maintenance, or manipulation of data in a human resources information system.

Qualifications

In order to qualify for this position, your resume must provide sufficient experience and/or education, knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the duties of the specific position for which you are being considered. Your resume is the key means we have for evaluating your skills, knowledge, and abilities as they relate to this position. Therefore, we encourage you to be clear and specific when describing your experience.

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of Specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Maintaining student/personnel records and files in accordance with organizational procedures; 2) Using a database system to input data, query and retrieve information; 3) Informs students/personnel of scholarship/organizational program procedures and requirements.

This position requires the ability to type at least 40 words per minute.
