A medium sized company in the hotel sector in Kingston, Jamaica, is seeking an experienced Inventory Clerk.

Inventory Clerk

Summary of Major Functions

• Ensure optimum level of inventory are maintained by monitoring supplies, identifying shortages
• Receive and log deliveries, ensuring that goods received are in conformity with required quality standards, match delivery documents
• Submit new inventory orders in a timely manner having ascertained restocking requirements
• Arrange warehouse to optimize available space and position products to ensure that goods are stored in a neat and orderly manner, and in accordance with safety standards
• Conduct inventory counts, reconcile physical count with records and submit report on variances
• Maintain inventory records by entering stock data to computerized system
• Be able to perform physical duties such as lifting, stocking and restocking associated with the position
• Be able to lift up to 50 lbs

Qualifications/Skills:

• An associate degree or diploma in Business or related field
• Previous inventory experience would be a distinct advantage
• Possess excellent interpersonal, communication, written, analytical, and time management skills
• Exercise initiative, pay keen attention to detail and possess high levels of integrity and honesty
• Competence in the use of computerized inventory systems, accounting software, preferably Peachtree, and Microsoft Office applications is required
• Be able to work on weekends and holidays
