Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates to fill the following popsitions within the University Council of Jamaica.

Corporate Secretary - Vacant
(GMG/SEG 1)
Salary Scale: $1,444,292 - $1,716,809 per annum and any allowances attached to the post.
Job Summary

Reporting to the Board of Directors through the Chairman, the Corporate Secretary is responsible for providing general guidance to the Board and its Committees on legal and regualtory compliance, ethical conduct and corporate givernance matters. The Corporate Secretary will also provide administrative support services to the Board of Directors ensuring the efficient functioning of the Board and its Committees.

Required Competencies:
  • Board Management skills
  • Excellent time management, planning and organizing skills
  • Excellent analytical and research skills
  • Good conflict resolution and mediation skills
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills
  • Good report writing and presentation skills
  • Good leadership and interpersonal skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications
  • Sound integrity and strict confidentiality
  • Knowledge of corporate governance standards
  • Sound knowledge of meeting protocols and applicable laws
Qualaifications and Experience:
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Law/Public Administration
  • At least three (3) years working experience in a similar position
