The Child Protection and Family Services Agency (CPFSA), an executive agency under the portfolio of the Ministry of Education, Youth and Information, invites suitable applicants t fill the following position:

Telephone Operator/Receptionist, Corporate Office (Level 1B)

Job Responsibilities: 
Reporting to the Support Services Officer, the incumbent will be the first point of contact and ensures that all clients entering or calling the Agency are dealt with in a professional manner by:
  • Answering and directing all telephone calls to relevant oficers in an efficient manner
  • Ensuring that visitors and customers are dealt with in a timely manner and that they are accommodated while they wait to be processed
  • Taking messages and relaying same to relevant officers in a timely manner
  • Providing answers to queries
  • Making calls for members of staff and maintaining the logbook
  • Performing any other duties as assigned

Key Knowledge and Competencies:
  • Ability to manage and manipulate PBX systems
  • Excellent customer relations skills
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • High level of professionalism
  • Knowledge of the functions and operations of the Agency
  • Knowledge of the Child Care and Protection Act (2004)
Qualfications and Experience:
  • Four (4) GCE/CXC subjects
  • Certification in customer service skills, telephone skills or other related skills
  • Minimum of two (2) years experience in customer relations or related field
