Job Opportunity

A small but  rapidly growing distribution company operating in Jamaica for both international and local suppliers is seeking to fill vacancies for the position of:

Senior Accounting Officer

Duties will include but are not limited to:

Inventory

• Assist with coordinating physical inventory counts and cycle counts as necessary.
• Investigate cycle counting variances and resolve issues.
• Prepare costing for inventory items and ensure timely posting of same.
• Ensure that the vendor account is updated with the invoice for inventory purchased.
• Ensure that the the system is updated with the correct selling price.

Analysis

• Prepare monthly profitability report on major customers.
• Prepare weekly, monthly and quarterly gross margin analysis by products and division in a timely maner.
• Report in periodic variances and their causes, focusing in particular on costing elements.
• Prepare monthly consumption report on major customers.
• Prepare adhoc analysis as required by management.

Desired Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting.
• Must have a strong cost systems background and have excellent analytical skills; sound understanding of accounting principles.
• Computer Literate - Strong Excel skills.
• Experience in Quickbooks Enterprise would be an asset.
