The United Church in Jamaica and the Cayman Islands invites applications from suitably qualified persons to fil the folloeing position:

Customer Service Representative
(Shirley Retreat Hotel)
Core Functions:
The Customer Service Representative enriches the position and image of the Hotel through courteous and professional service to guests. The customer service rep is responsible for the guest experience from initial contact, booking, through to check in and out. S/he boks reservations, accepts payments, issues receipts, and posts receipts and invoices to the accounting system.

Specific Knowledge:
  • Excellent verbal communication skills
  • Ability to listen with empathy and compassion
  • Possess strong attention to detail
  • Ability to 'read' customers and anticipate their needs
  • Politeness, cheerfulness and tact
  • Knowledge of hotel industry
  • Proficient use of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word)
  • Understanding of the use of technology and the internet in the hospitality/hotel industry including an appreciation of online and digital marketing

Qualifications and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Hospitality and Tourism Management or PR and/or Marketing Management
  • At least two (2) years customer service experience
