Please note that this process will be used to staff positions in Summerside and Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island only. As a result, if you are appointed from this process we will expect you to relocate to this location. If you are a candidate from the general public, you will have to pay any expenses related to relocation as well as any travel for assessments.

Qualified veterans, members and honourably released members of the Canadian Forces who are appointed are not entitled to relocation costs from the C R A. They may, however, be entitled to a final relocation from the Department of National Defence.

This staffing process will be used to staff positions at the SP-03, SP-04, and SP-05 levels.

- The salary range for a SP-03 position is $47,319 to $52,234
- The salary range for a SP-04 position is $51,894 to $58,409
- The salary range for a SP-05 position is $56,170 to $63,220

Job duties will vary depending on the position. Duties may include, but are not limited to:

• Communicating with taxpayers and representatives both verbally (on the phone) and in writing
• Answering inbound/outbound telephone enquiries
• Processing correspondence
• Analyzing, processing, and resolving files or requests from taxpayers and their representatives
• Reviewing and directing enquiries or issues to the appropriate area for resolution
• Researching, analyzing, interpreting, and applying legislative and regulatory provisions, policies and guidelines
• Preparing reports, letters, and other documents
• Reviewing, planning, organizing, prioritizing, and working on an assigned workload

Education

A secondary school diploma or C R A approved alternative

C R A will accept foreign credentials as long as they are considered acceptable by a recognized Canadian educational institution. Experience

Experience* performing clerical duties and/or providing direct service to the public in person or by phone.

(*This experience is normally associated with the performance of these functions as part of the major job duties accomplished for a period of six (6) months over the past two (2) years.)

• Second Language Evaluation (SLE):

Candidates must be able to demonstrate their capabilities to work in English and in French by achieving at least a BBC rating on the Public Service Commission's Second Language Evaluation (SLE) test. The SLE is designed to evaluate second language proficiency to the required linguistic profile. The first letter corresponds to the level for reading comprehension, the second letter corresponds to the level for written expression, and the third letter corresponds to the level for oral proficiency. Asset

• Ability to use reasoning skills to solve problems - General Competency Test: Level 2 (GCT2) – Pass Mark 51/90

If you have already written this standardized test and obtained a valid pass mark, you do not have to write it again. However, you can ask to be reassessed to try and improve your level(s) as long as you meet the re-test period restrictions. If you choose to rewrite the test, the mark you obtain will then become your most recent and valid mark. Should you rewrite the test before the retest period has elapsed, your result will not be valid and a new retest period will be imposed from the new test date.

If you have previously written this test but do not have an official copy of your results, you can request a copy of your test results from the Public Service Commission (PSC) at: http://www.psc-cfp.gc.ca/ppc-cpp/test-examen-result/result-eng.htm.
