The Jamaica Teachers' Association (JTA) invites suitably qualified candidates to apply for the position of Secretary (Clerical) in the Business Services Unit.
Job Scope/Overview:
The individual will provide full administrative support to the Assistant Secretary General, Property, Publishing and Business Services, to ensure that all functions and activities are executed innovatively, creatively and with the highest level of professionalism.

  • A certified Administrative Professional (CAP) Diploma or Diploma in Secretarial Studies from a recognized institution
  • Knowledge of Graphic Design
  • Knowledge of BusinessAdministration
  • Knowledge of Basic Accounting Principles
  • Two (2) years related experience

The successful candidate will be responsible for:
  • Tyoin letters and documents as instructed by the Assistant Secretary General
  • Mantaining the records of the Group Insurance Plan
  • Checking and verifying monthly payments for Health Insurance Plan
  • Assisting with Education Tours
  • Tyuping and distributing Lease Agreements for JTA Properties
  • Typing Investment Portfolio and Property Directory among many other duties
Required Competence:
  1. Must have excellent ICT skills, knowledge and competencies including Microsoft Publisher
  2. Must be highly confidential and be able to work on own initiative
  3. Must have excellent oral and written communication skills
