Duties

Stream 1: Assets Management

Asset Management intends to staff positions for qualified candidates to work as cleaners. Asset Management is looking for individuals who are able to work efficiently with variable workloads, and are adaptable to changing demands and priorities. Effective interpersonal skills are essential in this position. Cleaners are expected to inspect and clean Parks Canada employee work areas, public areas, restrooms, and grounds of the respective Parks Canada locations (including litter picking, recycling, shovelling snow).

This position involves shift work, weekends, holidays, overtime, and work in adverse weather conditions. The job requires the willingness and ability to perform physical and repetitive work, safely use and handle chemicals, and provide prompt and courteous service to the clients and Parks visitors. The work requires that employees be alert, conscientious and punctual.


Stream 2: Banff Upper Hot Springs

Banff Upper Hot Springs intends to staff positions for qualified candidates to work as cleaners. Banff Upper Hot Springs is looking for individuals who are able to work under pressure and handle crowds. Effective interpersonal skills are essential in this position given the amount of interaction with the public and other staff. Cleaners are expected to: inspect and clean locker rooms, public areas, restrooms, and grounds (including litter picking, recycling, shoveling snow), wash, dry, fold and put away rental towels and suits.

The pool is open 7 days a week, so this position involves shift work, weekends, holidays, overtime and work in adverse weather conditions. The job requires the willingness and ability to perform physical and repetitive work, safely use and handle chemicals, and provide prompt and courteous service to the clients and Parks visitors. The work requires that employees be alert, conscientious and punctual.

Work environment

Parks Canada is a federal government agency responsible for the protection and presentation of Canada’s outstanding natural and cultural resources through a system of national parks, national marine conservation areas and national historic sites in all regions of Canada.

• Providing quality visitor service
• Working in a team oriented environment
• Cleaning procedures and safe product handling (WHMIS)
