What can I expect to do in this role?

• Review, prioritize and register incoming family support related correspondence, court orders, program materials, and other legal documents
• Scan, index, and photocopy materials
• Prepare outgoing mail and maintain manual and computerized filing systems, records, and reports
• Prepare and process documents for legal matters and hearings

How do I qualify?

Mandatory

• For bilingual position, proficiency in oral and written French at an advanced level

Technical Knowledge

• You have the ability to work with and apply legislation, policies, procedures, and guidelines
• You are able to acquire knowledge of the Family Responsibility and Support Arrears Enforcement Act

Analytical, Reasoning, and Problem-Solving Skills

• You can review, assess and determine needed action on a range or program documents in accordance with established standards and guidelines
• You can maintain an accurate file record for litigation purposes

Organizational and Administrative Skills

• You can prioritize, review, and process a high volume of documents within tight deadlines

Communication and Interpersonal Skills

• You can explain detailed information related to legal and program documents to staff, courts, and lawyers
• You can tactfully respond to sensitive issues while maintaining confidentiality

Computer Skills

• You are proficient with computer software applications to enter and update data, draft correspondence, prepare statistical reports and spreadsheets
• You can operate office equipment including photocopiers, printers, and fax machines
