Provide vital support to the children and youth in the care of the province. Under the direction of a Team Leader, the Resources Social Worker works as a member of a multi-disciplinary team providing a wide range of specialized services, including developing and maintaining resources in which to place children in care. This key role recruits, develops and supports foster parents and caregivers and is involved in the community in an outreach capacity. The Resources Worker liaises with district offices that provide child protection services; assists the contract negotiator in defining the best way to meet identified needs; and supports foster homes and contracted resource providers.

An effective communicator with a collaborative approach, you establish vital working relationships with staff, the community and other stakeholders to realize the goal of providing the most appropriate placement to meet the needs of the child in care.

Qualifications:
In order to be considered for this position, your application must clearly demonstrate how you meet the education and experience as outlined below:

- BSW or MSW or BA in Child and Youth Care or M.Ed. in Counselling or MA in Psychology having completed a practicum in family and child welfare or equivalent.
- The ideal candidate will have previous experience in a family service or child and youth service environment and/or previous child welfare experience (resources, guardianship or child protection - preferably you will have your child welfare specialization).  
- Preference may be given to applicants with SAFE training and experience in completing SAFE studies.
- Preference may be given to application with work experience Resource and Payment (RAP), Integrated Case Management System (ICM) and contracting administration experience.
- If your degree was obtained outside of Canada, you need to confirm it has been assessed for equivalency through the International Credential Evaluation Services (ICES). Confirmation or equivalency for your degree is required for you to be considered.
