Intent of the process

A pool of qualified candidates may be established and may be used to fill similar vacancies of various tenures (e.g.indeterminate, term, casual, acting, etc.) with Correctional Service Canada.

EDUCATION
A secondary school diploma or an acceptable combination of education, training, and/or experience.

Degree equivalency

EXPERIENCE
Significant* and recent** experience working in a manufacturing***, production, or trades environment.
Significant* and recent** experience in inventory control, tool control, or quality control.
Recent** experience in supervising or training individuals

*Significant experience refers to the depth and breadth of experience normally associated with the performance of duties on a regular and continuous basis for approximately 3 years.
**Recent experience is within the past 5 years.
***Manufacturing environment is defined as converting raw materials into finished products/goods.

OCCUPATIONAL CERTIFICATION
Confined Space certificate
First Aid certificate
Forklift certificate
Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) certificate

EXPERIENCE
Experience using a computer and various computer based applications

Experience working in textiles
Experience working in automotive mechanics
Experience working in cabinet/furniture production
Experience working in metal work production
Experience working in paint production
Experience in managing a production line
Experience working in a correctional environment (institutional or community office)

Must be able to lift up to 50lbs, carry materials of varying weight up and down stairs, twist, bend, and kneel.

Possession of a valid driver’s license that conforms to Provincial requirements
