Marketing Officer (Kingston, Jamaica) - Sagicor Group Jamaica Ltd.

Sagicor Group Jamaica Limited is seeking a suitable candidate to join our Group Marketing team in the capacity of:  Marketing Officer 

The selected candidate will provide support for the Brand Manager in the Group Marketing Department, to develop and implement marketing plans for the Individual Insurance portfolio that will serve to drive profitable business and improve brand equity in line with the company’s strategic objectives and ensure that the overall corporate image of Sagicor is maintained at all times. 

*This role will involve frequent work outside of normal business hours, and occasional island-wide travel.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

• Work closely with the Brand Manager to develop annual marketing communication plans for Sagicor Life Jamaica and its subsidiaries.
• Work closely with assigned divisions to identify and capitalize on profitable opportunities.
• Manage marketing expenditure within agreed limits.
• Liaise with advertising agency to develop and/or refresh advertising campaigns across all media.
• Assist with the planning and execution of events/sponsorships/promotions.
• Monitor market trends and report on competitor activity.
• Coordinate the development, design and dissemination of corporate communication, including, but not limited, to Sales/ Business presentations (including monthly sales reports) and Customer service correspondence.
• Monitor stock of related marketing material including brochures, branding, and make request for recorder when necessary.
• Contribute positively to team spirit for the department and the company-at large

Academic Qualifications/Specialized Skills/Competencies:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Communications, or an equivalent qualification from a recognized tertiary institution
• Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in marketing, preferably in a banking environment, with a proven track record of creating and/or supporting marketing campaigns
• Excellent communication and analytical skills, with a strong sense of responsibility and independence
• Exceptional writing skills
• Strong interpersonal and communications skills
• Ability to create and deliver high impact presentations
• General understanding of the financial/banking industry
• Results oriented, with a can-do attitude
• Sound knowledge of personal computing applications, including spreadsheets, word processing, database management, communication and graphics tools
• Excellent time management skills
• A valid driver’s license and regular access to a reliable motor vehicle
