Duties
Provides generalist, multi-function human resources support services within the Parks Canada Agency.Work environment
Parks Canada is a federal government agency responsible for the protection and presentation of Canada's outstanding natural and cultural resources through a system of national parks, national marine conservation areas and national historic sites in all regions of Canada.Thunder Bay is situated along the north shore of Lake Superior, home to the picturesque Sleeping Giant peninsula. It’s the largest community on Lake Superior, boasting a rich culture and abundance of resources and services that support a strong economy. It’s a large city with a rural community feel, where you can explore natural wonders like Kakabeka Falls or Sleeping Giant, and enjoy many outdoor adventures such as, kayaking, canoeing, snowmobiling, skiing, recreational fishing, and boating on Lake Superior. There are many indoor activities to pursue as well, such as, visiting the local art galleries and museums or enjoying a musical or stage show at the Thunder Bay Community Auditorium. Thunder Bay is home to Fort William Historical Park, the world’s largest reconstructed fur trade post, where you can travel back in time with the family and participate in historically significant activities. Intent of the process
This process may be used to create a pool of qualified candidates to staff similar positions with various tenures, security levels or linguistic profiles in same or other parts of the country.Positions to be filled: 1
Information you must provide
Your résumé.A covering letter in 1,500 words (maximum) "Applicants must clearly demonstrate in their cover letter how they meet the Education and Experience criteria listed in the Statement of Qualifications (see below). Applicants must list both of these factors in their cover letter, and then write one or two paragraphs for each demonstrating how they meet these factors by providing concrete examples. Completion of a minimum of 2-years of a post-secondary program in an administrative field (i.e. Business Administration, Commerce, etc) OR an acceptable combination of education and experience.
Preference may be given to candidates who have a degree in Human Resources or other discipline relevant to the duties of the position.

Signifiant experience in providing administrative support services in human resources.
Recent* experience in using various management information systems and software programs (e.g. MS Word, Excel, Power Point, email, electronic databases).
