Caribbean Examinations Council (CXC), the regional examining body, is seeking a talented professional to join its team in the following role:

Stenographer Clerk,

Syllabus and Curriculum Development Unit

Located at CXC's Western Zone Office

Caenwood Centre, 37 Arnold Road, Kingston 5.

Responsible for providing clerical and secretarial support to the Syllabus and Curriculum Development Unit at the Western Zone Office (WZO).

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

• Perform clerical and secretarial support the Unit, workshops and meetings;
• Format and edit documents produced by the Unit;
• Support the research agenda of the Unit;
• Provide support in composing syllabuses, modules, other learning support resources and products for the Unit; 
• Maintain databases within the Unit;

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR:

• Five (5) CSEC General Proficiency Grades I, II and III including English A and Typewriting or Electronic Document Preparation and Management OR
• a. An appropriate combination of five (5) CSEC General Proficiency Grades I, II and III and Basic Proficiency Grades I and II including English A and Typewriting or Electronic Document Preparation and Management;
• A secretarial certificate or diploma from a recognized institution (CPS, CAP, etc.)
• At least three (3) years’ experience in an administrative position
• Experience in editing and proofreading
• Proficiency in the use of word processing and spread sheet and database applications (Microsoft Excel and Access)
• Highly professional attitude
• Effective oral, interpersonal and written communication skills
