The Parks Canada team working at the National Park Reserve of the Archipelago Mingan includes 20 employees nearly 50 people in the summer. The fieldwork, exclusively on islands, requires travel which is provided by Parks Canada boat operators. Departures are from the marina of Havre-Saint-Pierre or Mingan.
The administrative offices are located in Havre-Saint-Pierre, a village of about 3,500 inhabitants that is by the sea. All the necessary amenities are nearby (grocery store, hardware store, clothing store, video store, dentist, optometrist, health center, post office, bowling and others). Several activities are available such as canoeing, kayaking, fishing, hiking, scuba diving, biking, watching marine birds and other. The weather changes rapidly in the region.
