Office Manager
Job Summary:
To manage the resource of the Credit Union on a day-to-day basis and to develop the organisation in the accordance to the policies and decisions of the Board of Directors
Key Responsibilities
- To ensure that the credit union adheres to all regulatory and reporting requirements and best practices governing the operations of Credit Unions as prescribed by regulatory institutions
- To interpret and implement policies and procedures of the Credit Union and the provision of timely and accurate reports for Board of Directors Meeting
- Develop and implement policies and procedures in conjunction with the Board and Committees
- To effectively direct the financial management of the Credit Union using the budget as a guide
- Provide leadership to staff through effective objective setting, delegation and communication
- To manage the welfare and development of staff through the preparation of performance appraisals and recommendation of required training and development programmes
- Plan and organise the Annual General Meeting implementing policies and procedures in compliance with regulatory requirements
- Prepare and monitor the annual budget
- Ensure that Annual Returns are prepared and submitted to the relevant Agencies on time
- Establish and maintain procedures for monitoring member deposits, withdrawals, savings, including financial counseling
Minimum Education and Experience:
- First degree in Management Studies or Accounting or Finance or Business Administration from a recognised tertiary institution.
- Advanced training and in-depth knowledge of strategic planning/marketing/financial management
- Five (5) years experience in a management position in a credit union or financial institution
Key Competencies:
- Knowledge of Credit Union operations
- Excellent accounting background
- Excellent computer skills
- Knowledge of Emortelle software
- Experience in marketing and member relations
- Well-developed interpersonal, negotiation and communication skills
- Excellent time management skills
- Unquestioned intergrity
