Marketing Research Analyst

The overall role of the Marketing Research function is to measurably increase the focus and yield of marketing investment by understanding and providing information on consumer needs and mechanism of the market place. The Marketing Research Analyst plays a key role in monitoring and reporting on the successful application of Marketing strategies, as well as executes consumer and trade research and related activities.

Key Functions and Responsibilities

• Implements, controls, analyses, interprets and reports on marketing research and information projects following ORACLE guidelines, within time frame and budget.
• Ensure that research agencies develop an appropriate, cost effective and high quality work for British America Tobacco.
• Develop preliminary consumer and trade analysis from the data gathered.
• Measure and analyse effectiveness of touch point communication, trade performance and consumer behavior indicators by segment.
• Consolidate information on competitors' activities, analyzing them and providing critical information to the management team.
• Support the Marketing Deployment Manager in the development of meaningful and actionable consumer and customer plans.
• Prepares short and long term marketing forecasts and competitive business scenarios based on comprehensive and high quality marketing information.
• Provides marketing support to ensure all marketing strategies are in line with  overall market trends.
• Ensures the correct application of Marketing Research and Intelligence Common Platforms and Best Practice methods on consumer research. 

Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

• BSc Degree in Marketing, Sociology, Economics or Statistics.
• Minimum of two (2) years Marketing Research experience in a leading FMCG company covering all aspects of research methodologies and principles.
• Computer literacy with a basic knowledge of statistical and forecasting techniques.
• Effective communication (oral and written) and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent analytical skills and rational decision making.
• Valid Driver's Licence would be an asset.
