We are looking for an Evaluation Officer who is a team player and thrives in an energetic and collaborative work environment, to support the NRC’s Audit and Evaluation Branch (NRC-OAE). The Evaluation Officer would be someone who shares our core values of impact, accountability, leadership, integrity and collaboration.
Under the direction of an Evaluation Manager, you would be responsible for the planning and coordinating evaluation projects or components of projects. You would also be responsible for conducting primary evaluation research (e.g., interviews, focus groups).
As an Evaluation Officer, you will be involved in evaluation planning, data collection, analysis and synthesis of data collected as well as report writing. You will work closely with other members of the evaluation team.

*This position is classified as a Research Council Officer (RCO), a group that is unique to the NRC. For evaluators working in the core public service, this position is similar to EC2 or EC3.
Screening criteria
Applicants must demonstrate within the content of their application that they meet the following screening criteria in order to be given further consideration as candidates:Education
Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with an acceptable specialization in economics, sociology or statistics.
Credentialed Evaluator designation from the Canadian Evaluation Society could be considered an asset.
Experience
*Recent experience collecting and analyzing qualitative and quantitative data within the context of program evaluation.
*Recent experience in writing reports or portions of reports.
Experience conducting evaluations of science, engineering and innovation programs could be considered an asset.
*Recent experience is defined as experience within the last two (2) years

- From $49,670 to $140,418 per annum.
- This position is classified as a Research Council Officer (RCO), a group that is unique to the NRC. The RCO group uses a person-based classification system instead of the more common duties-based classification system. Candidates are remunerated based on their expertise, skill, outcomes and impacts of their previous work experience. The salary scale for this group is vast, from $49,670 to $140,418 per annum, which permits for employees of all levels from new graduates to world renowned experts to be fairly compensated for their contributions.
