The Jamaica National Agency for Accreditation (JANAAC) is an agency of the Ministry of Industry, Commerce, Agriculture and Fisheries with responsibility for accrediting Conformity Assessment Bodies (CABs) i.e. laboratories, inspection bodies and certification bodies. Applications are invited from suitably qualified persons to fill the post of:


Accreditation Administrator
Major Duties
Reporting directly to the Accreditation Manager, the Accreditation Administrator provides administrative support in a one-on-one working relationship. The ideal candidate should have the ability to exercise good judgement in a variety of situations; possess strong written and verbal communication skills; be organized and efficient; and be able to maintain a realistic balance among multiple priorities. The AA will have the ability to work independently on Projects, and must be able to work under pressure at time to handle a wide variety of activities.

Qualification and Experience Minimum:
  • Degree in a Science or related discipline.
  • Experience in Administrative Management.
  • Minimum of Two (2) years' experience.
  • Quality systems training and/or experience would be a definite asset.
Required Competencies
The ideal candidate should possess the following:
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to build relationships with  stakeholders, and demonstrate the highest level of customer/client service and response.
  • Proven ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Adaptability to various competing demands.
  • Excellent research skills.
  • Be able to work on own initiative with minimum supervision.
  • Be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel and PowerPoint) and Adobe Acrobat.
GOJ Salary scale: GMG/AM3


Finance Manager

Major Duties
Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the Finance Manager is responsible for reviewing financial reports, monitoring accounts, and preparing activity reports and financial forecasts for the Agency. (S)he must be able to investigate ways to improve profitability, and analyze markets for business opportunities. The Finance Manager manages the payable and receivable accounts, investment portfolios, updates the general ledger, leads budget preparation, performs bank reconciliations, prepares statutory/regulatory submissions; manages payroll, prepares invoices, prepares GCT exemption certificates and all major accounting functions.

Qualification and Experience Minimum:
  • B.Sc. in Finance, Accounts, Economics or equivalent from a recognized university.
  • Certification in Government Accounting.
  • Minimum of three (3) years' experience in Budgeting and Financial Administration ideally in the Public Sector.
  • Supervisory/managerial experience
Required Competencies
  • Excellent understanding of FAA and PMBA act.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Good analytical skills.
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to manage external relationships.
  • Must be able to work on own initiative with minimum supervision.
  • Proficiency in the use of Peachtree Accounting. 
  • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office Suite.
GOJ Salary Scale - FMG/PA2 (applicants should review scale before applying)
