Job Summary

Qualifications
- Training as evidenced by possession of a recognized certificate in Midwifery
- Must Possess current registration as a Midwife
- Must satisfy the requirements for Registration with the Nursing Council of Trinidad and Tobago
Responsibilities
- Receives patients upon admission, prepares patient for deliver room and performs normal obstetrical delivery
- Administer medicines and injections
- Make home visits
- Performs related duties as assigned
- Knowledge of the principles, practices, techniques and equipment used in obstetrics
- Knowledge of sub-professional nursing theory and practice, sanitation and personal hygiene
- Ability to maintain a sympathetic attitude towards patients
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationship with other employees and the public
- Working knowledge of hospital rules and regulations
- Must be a critical thinker
