Purchasing and Logistics Officer
A reputable and dynamic Pharmaceutical Distributor invites applications from suitably qualified persons to fill the position of Purchasing and Logistics Officer.
Reporting to the General Manager, the Purchasing and Logistics Officer will be responsible for ensuring that purchase orders are prepared and expedited in accordance with established time frames and in the format stipulated by the Company.

 Responsibilities and Duties:
  • Responsible for the preparation and processing of Purchase Orders, based on approved Order Calculation Spreadsheet.
  • Make recommendations designed to reduce cost and improve quality.
  • Monitor and co-ordinate outstanding orders from suppliers to ensure that delivery requirements are met.
  • Prepare and maintain updated Order Status Report to provide internal feedback.
  • Receive suppliers' invoices and submit copies to Warehouse Manager, Accounts Payable and Customs Broker.
  • Responsible for the co-ordination of customs clearance, transportation and delivery of imported orders.
  • Maintain contact with major suppliers of goods and services and respond to various requests e.g. quotations, order status, other.
  • Maintain proper cords of purchase order and tracking details, to enable easy retrieval of data.
  • Responsible for the preparation and submission of Sales and Inventory Reports to Suppliers and internal Management Team.
Qualification, Experience and Knowledge
  • Degree in Management of Business Administration
  • Certification in Purchasing Management or Logistics
  • A minimum of two (2) years' experience in a similar position.
  • Experience in preparing reports.
  • Knowledge of purchasing procedures, practices and techniques.
  • Knowledge of customs documentation, cargo handing and clearance procedures.
  • Knowledge of computerised purchasing and inventory system (Accpac) as well as other software programmes.
Required Personal Attributes:
The individual must be:
  • Detail oriented.
  • Able to manage several high priority tasks simultaneously.
  • Analytical
  • Able to work independently.
  • Able to work independently.
  • Abe to drive tasks to completion.
  • Able to use independent judgment.
  • Able to self-start and self-regulate.
  • Professional in conduct and possess a high level of maturity and diplomacy.
Special Conditions Associated With The Job:
  • May be occasionally required to work beyond normal working hours
