The Department of Immigration invites applications for the post of:
Mail & File Registry Clerk
The Department of Immigration facilitates and controls the movement of visitors and residents to and from the Cayman Islands and provides for the maintenance and enforcement of the Cayman Islands Immigration laws and regulations and it processes large numbers of work permits and other applications. The successful candidate will ensure that all requests are processed efficiently and presented in correct form in accordance with established guidelines.
Summary of key responsibilities:
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
The successful candidate should be a High School graduate with at least 3 CXC passes or equivalent. Previous experience in a professional and business environment would be beneficial. It is essential that candidates possess:-

Mail & File Registry Clerk
The Department of Immigration facilitates and controls the movement of visitors and residents to and from the Cayman Islands and provides for the maintenance and enforcement of the Cayman Islands Immigration laws and regulations and it processes large numbers of work permits and other applications. The successful candidate will ensure that all requests are processed efficiently and presented in correct form in accordance with established guidelines.
Summary of key responsibilities:
- Maintain and process over 125,000 files in the Mail & File Registry section
- Handle approximately 60-100 telephone calls per week
- Prepare files for approximately 600 applications and correspondence, on a weekly basis.
- Scan thousands of documents to the ECM system
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
The successful candidate should be a High School graduate with at least 3 CXC passes or equivalent. Previous experience in a professional and business environment would be beneficial. It is essential that candidates possess:-
- good computer skills and excellent attention to detail
- ability to be discreet and maintain confidentiality
- ability to work on their own initiative and also to participate as a full member of a team
- ability to deal with staff and customers in a courteous and timely manner
- Prior knowledge of Immigration Laws and Procedures as well as experience using the IMSS Computer System would be advantageous.
