  This position is located at Pierside Lanes Bowling Center, MWR, Naval Station Norfolk, Norfolk, Virginia.

  Responsibilities

  
  The purpose of this position is to perform a variety of food preparations and limited cooking tasks in a club and/or snack bar environment.  Performs a variety of tasks such as grilling/frying pancakes, hamburgers, hotdogs, bacon, eggs, sausage, by watching while the items are cooking, turning as required, regulating temperature and removing when done.  Measures and weighs ingredients according to recipes or as directed in the preparation of salads, desserts, juices, fruit trays, etc.  Prepares toast, salads, salad dressing and sandwiches.  Prepares vegetables and fruits for serving according to instructors and/or recipes.  Places cooked food in serving dishes in steam carts and food trucks.  Washes and cleans kitchen equipment and work area.  Keeps refrigerators, grills, equipment and working area clean and sanitary at all times.  May be required to collect money, operate a cash register, and prepare Daily Activity Report (DAR) for cash accountability for MWR funds received.  May assist in taking monthly inventory.  Performs other related duties as assigned.

  Qualifications

  Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
  

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a valid Health Card and Food Handlers Sanitation certification.

  You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer and part time experience. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
  Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
