The following vacancies have arisen within the Procurement and Office Services Department for the following posts:

Buyer - Level 5B

Three (3) posts (One Permanent, Two (2) Temporary)

The Buyer is responsible for the procurement of specified goods, services and works in accordance with prescribed Government of Jamaica (G.O.J.) Regulations and University of Technology, Jamaica Policies in a timely manner of facilitate the efficient operations of the University.

Requirements:

The preferred applicant will possess the following:

• A First Degree in Business, Management Studies of Accounting.
• Level four (4) I.N.P.R.I./Jamaica Certificate in Public Sector Procurement.
• Sound knowledge of the G.O.J. Procurement Regulations.
• Knowledge of Jamaica Customs Agency procedures and shipping documentation.
• Ability to effectively manage multiple tasks in a stressful environment.
• Excellent interpersonal and human relations skills.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to meet tight deadlines.
• Excellent negotiating and numeracy skills.
• At least one (1) to two (2) years work experience in a similar position.
