The Program Support Clerk position is located in the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Chief Business Office (CBO) Purchased Care (PC), Operations (OPS), located in Bonham, TX. Duties include but may not be limited to the following:
- Claims and medical records are scanned in the Fee Basis Computer System (FBCS) and DocManager.
- Reviews incoming correspondence to determine the nature of the question(s) and/or issue(s) and directs the documentation to the proper area for resolution.
- Scans claims that are not accompanied with documents in FBCS.
- Assists with editing of outpatient authorizations to change or identify the non-VA vendor or provider and amending the authorization to reflect effective from and to dates.
- Enters claims disposition for unauthorized claims received for processing, claims are suspended and re-routed to FBCS.
- Assists veterans and providers with requests regarding payments issues, correct address and Preliminary Fee Remittance Advice Reports (PFRAR).
- Communicates with the Veteran to assist them in filing claims and explaining what action is needed by the Veteran to support their claim.
- Receives telephone calls regarding denied/rejected claims for various reasons and notifies the voucher examiner when additional information necessitates a second review of the claim.
Work Schedule: Monday-Friday; 8:00AM - 4:30PM
