Responsibilities
The employee in this position serves as a Program Support Assistant to the Virtual Health Program supporting the Home Telehealth program including the Lead Care Coordinator and other Care Coordinators. Duties are varied, non-routine, and consist of handling data and coordination for program patients, registration for My HealtheVet, managing clinics for real time Clinical Video TeleHealth events, including patient education activities, technical and scheduling activities, and other program support duties, as assigned. Position entails travel between the East Orange and Lyons campuses as well as to any of the ten VA NJHCS Community Based Outpatient Clinics. Main Duties and Responsibilities:
Assists in enrollment, disenrollment and troubleshooting of telehealth equipment;
Receives and processes documents and reports in accordance with established procedures;
Organizes and maintains patient data and retrieves a variety of computerized data;
Collects, compiles and tracks statistical information and prepares reports;
Keeps Home Telehealth Lead apprised of patient census and any changes/problems;
Establishing and maintaining inventory of all telehealth equipment;
Monitors the use of services, supplies, and equipment for the program;
Operates web-based software for Telehealth program as well as other databases for VISN
Maintains calendar of patient appointments;
Coordinates meetings, conferences and takes meeting minutes;
Prepares travel documents;
Performs other related duties as assigned.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: The work is primarily sedentary, but involves walking to all parts of the Medical Center to work with a variety of clinical and administrative services.
Qualifications
TO QUALIFY FOR THIS POSITION YOU MUST MEET ONE OF THE FOLLOWING CRITERIA:
EXPERIENCE: At least one (1) full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level (GS-4) in Federal Service that has given me the knowledge, skills and abilities required to perform the duties of a Program Support Assistant GS-5. Your work would have been assigned by a supervisor who defined objectives, priorities, and deadlines and your work would have consisted of performing a full range of standard and non-standard clerical assignments. Specialized experience includes: providing clerical support in an office where your responsibilities included a broad working knowledge of clinical administrative duties; maintaining records and files; using automated systems to track data and create reports; preparing correspondence which requires the knowledge of formatting, spelling, grammar and punctuation; coordinating meetings; and screening calls and visitors. NOTE: Experience must be fully documented on your resume and must include job title; duties; month and year start/end dates AND hours worked per week.
OR
EDUCATION: Four (4) years of education above high school leading to a bachelor's degree in any field which high school graduation or the equivalent is the normal prerequisite. One year of full-time academic study is usually 30 semester hours or 45 quarter hours. This education must have been obtained at an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university. NOTE: Transcripts must be submitted with your application materials. Education cannot be credited without documentation.
OR
COMBINATION: Equivalent combination of successfully completed post-high school education and specialized experience, as described above, which meet the total qualification requirements for this grade level. For the GS-05 only the semester hours in excess of the first 60 semester hours can be used in place of experience. NOTE: Your experience must be documented in your resume and transcripts are required.
AND
LICENSE REQUIREMENT: You must have a current, valid State issued motor vehicle operator's license.

IMPORTANT: A full year of work is considered to be 35-40 hours of work per week. All experience listed on your resume must include the month and year start/end dates. Part-time experience will be credited on the basis of time actually spent in appropriate activities. Applicants wishing to receive credit for such experience must indicate clearly the nature of their duties and responsibilities in each position and the number of hours a week spent in such employment.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
