  The Wind River/Bighorn Basin District Office oversees the Cody, Lander, and Worland field offices and is co-located in the Worland Field Office.  Combined, the field offices manage 5.8 million acres of public land surface and 7 million acres sub-surface Federal mineral estate. Located in north central Wyoming, these lands provide a variety of resources and uses including wild horses, wildlife habitat, scenic vistas, recreation opportunities, mineral development, and livestock grazing. You can mountain bike, horseback ride, hunt big game, fish a blue-ribbon trout stream, explore the badlands, see the latest dinosaur discoveries, and more!   Responsibilities

  
  

  • Collect basic data on lands, oil and gas, mining or minerals cases. 
  • Determine the accuracy and proper execution of applications or claims.
  • Adjudicate routine applications or transactions in lands, coal management, mineral materials disposal, mining or mineral leasing applications.
  • Drafts simple adjudication decisions on assigned cases involving defined facts.
  • Prepare routine correspondence, notices and decisions to process cases.
  • Ensure data quality and integrity by adherence to quality control standards and procedures.

  Qualifications

   Education:
  For GS-5 Undergraduate and Graduate Education in any field of study:
  General Experience GS-05-Experience that provided a familiarity with real property laws and legal land descriptions, land titles, tract maps, and legal documents, or other experience that involved explanation, application, or interpretation of laws, regulations, policies, etc. Such experience may have been gained in positions such as law clerk, claims examiner, contact representative, or other work dealing with laws, rules, regulations, procedures, etc.

  Foreign Education: If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show that the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university.
