VACANCY
A leading manufacturing company in Kingston is seeking qualified persons to fill the following positions.
JUNIOR ACCOUNTANT
-
Assist with daily processes/ procedures for ALL financial and accounting areas to ensure objectives are met in an accurate and timely manner.
-
Responsible for the preparation of monthly payroll for review by Accountant and ensure timely payment and reconciliation of all payroll records;
-
To assist in the preparation and analysis of monthly Financial Statements for submission to the Financial Controller by the 5th of the month;
-
Assist the accounting staff with their daily functions/tasks assigned;
-
Preparation of product costing for review by the Accountant;
-
To ensure that all relevant journals are prepared and approved on a monthly basis;
-
To assist with the verification of all entries to be posted to the General Ledger;
-
To ensure that the fixed asset register is updated & maintained on a monthly basis
-
To ensure that the fixed asset register is updated &maintained on a daily basis;
-
To assist with periodic inventory counts/checks and ensure that the inventory subledger agrees to the general ledger.

Evaluate and make recommendations for the development of policies, practices, procedures and/or systems changes necessary to support ongoing compliance efficiencies.

To perform any other duties assigned within the scope of the position
REQUIREMENTS:
-
B.Sc in Accounting OR Diploma in Business Administration with Emphasis in Accounts;
-
At least three years experience in a similar position
-
Working knowledge of accounting software packages and spreadsheets (E.g. ACCPAC);
-
Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.
SETTLEMENT CLERK
Duties and Responsibilities:
-
Daily settlement of Van and Truck sales personnel.
-
Reconcile sales driver deposits forms with daily receipts. Counts and verifies each driver’s cash and cheques.

Conduct weekly route audits.
-
Complete Monthly route audit reconciliation; Complete daily settlement Report.
Requirements:
-
Minimum Diploma with accounting emphasis.
-
Basic knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
-
Knowledge of PC application software including word processing and spreadsheet packages.
-
Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
-
Experience in settlement or a related field would be an asset.
